Golem Housing Co-op

We are currently a group of 12 big people and one small one who live in a housing co-operative in Swansea, spread out across two houses. We started getting together to talk about the idea of setting up the co-op in March 2010, and have been working on it ever since. We got the keys to our first house on 30th May 2012 and managed to expand into a second house just across the road at the start of 2020.

We are in a very central, urban location and 5 minutes stroll from the town centre and about 10 mins walk to the beach or train station. We have two cats in one house and a part-time dog in the other. Between us all we have a wide range of interests, hobbies and passions including playing music, gigs, gardening, hiking, sea swimming, arts and crafts, sewing, reading, writing, cooking, activism, cycling, surfing, fitness, foraging, travel, games, acro-yoga, climbing, camping. As a household, we usually eat together every evening and take it in turns to cook. Once a week we bring the whole co-op together for a meal. We’re a lovely welcoming bunch and are LGBTQ+ friendly.
