Pangaia

Pangaia Housing Cooperative leases Hen Parcau Farm, a twelve acre small holding adjoining several thousand acres of woodland and situated in North Pembrokeshire, on the edge of the Preseli Mountains. At present there are six committed core members and four prospective members who we expect will become full members in due course.

Much work has taken place, clearing the extensive debris left by the previous owner who battery farmed chickens and pigs and bred dogs for laboratory purposes. The house has been returned to a habitable state and work is under way repairing the outbuildings and converting the woodshed into accommodation. We are in the process of buying the property, our target for this being the Summer of 1999.

Our aim is to provide housing for those committed to living and working co-operatively and towards a sustainable future. In the long term we hope to buy a second property, thus freeing up more land for people to live and work on.

The land is divided between a fledgling orchard, organic vegetable gardens for members, a regeneration zone, two horse paddocks and an acre of land on which Growing Heart Workers' Cooperative is attempting to establish an organic market garden.
