New Education

New Education Housing Cooperative was founded in 1986 and was originally based in inner city Birmingham. The co-op relocated in July 200 because of a change in aims and direction.

New Education now owns outright a 4 bedroom house with a long garden in a semi-rural area 15 miles north of Swansea in the Upper Swansea Valley. The location was chosen for its mountain views and walks and its accessibility by public transport to the outstanding beauty of the Brecon Beacons and the Gower Peninsula coastline.

At the time of writing the co-op is in the process of reviewing its priorities and projects but is specifically concerned with: instantaneous and complete radical change in individuals and therefore society; health promotion; vegan issues; growing food organically; collectively owning resources; workers co-operatives; home education, creative parenting and living lightly.If all these areas are of concern to you and you would like to know more about our work please write enclosing a stamped addressed envelope to New Education:
