  • Housing Co-ops  ( 24 items )
    Radical Routes housing co-op are limited companies registered mainly with the Registry of Friendly Societies but some with Companies house. Very basically the company owns the building and the tenants all pay rent to the company. All tenants are members of the co-op (i.e. directors of the company) and all members are tenants. Membership costs a nominal fee (usually £1).

    A workers co-op is a business where all employees are equal. In Radical Routes workers co-ops all employees are directors of the company (if they wish to be) and all have equal say in the running of the business.

  • Associate Members  ( 5 items )
    Anyone can be an associate member of Radical Routes. Some co-ops who cannot fulfill their work commitment but don't want to sever links completely revert to associate membership. Sometime individuals or groups of individuals whose structure is not compatable with radical routes but who share the aims and ideas take on associate membership. Assoicate membership has no commitment to Radical Routes but means that groups and individuals can be kept up to date with the goings on within the network as they receive full copies of the agenda, minutes and newsletter of the network. This means that they can benefit from the mutual aid aspect of radical routes without the work commitment
